 The
Cross Plains Planning Committee was recently involved in a project that
was being jointly sponsored by the Cross Plains Chamber of Commerce and
The Cross Plains Economic Development Corporation.
The
joint effort the Chamber and the EDC were involved in was effecting a
stimulus of funds to be used for Park renovation in the form of a ticket
sales drawing. The drawing was held on November 1st during the local
"Hunter's Feed". The prize for the winning ticket was a 4 wheel ATV. The Planning Committee joined in the effort by
providing additional manpower, promotional activities and avenues of
marketing. The 4-wheeler was displayed at various places around
town in an effort to acquaint the public with the ongoing drawing in
order to sell tickets and raise the much needed funds for park
renovation. The drawing was held and Pam Smith was the winner of the
4-wheel ATV. According to the EDC approximately $2000.00 profit was made
and will be used for renovation of the restroom facilities at Treadway
Park. This project is ongoing as more funds are needed for this project
and the Planning Committee is actively pursing other avenues of fund
