Rick Potter |
Rick Potter is a lifelong resident of Cross Plains, Texas. Born
in Cross Plains on July 26, 1955 Rick has continued to live and make his
home in Cross Plains. Rick has six sisters and one brother. Rick married
Bonnie Wellmaker on February 27, 1976. Together they had four children:
Chris Potter, Jarrod Potter, Jill Potter, and Seth Potter. Rick has
seven grandchildren.
Rick is a member of First Baptist Church in Cross Plains where he also serves as a Sunday School teacher for ages 55 - 60. Before that he taught class ages of 13 through 15. Graduating from Cross Plains High School in 1973 Rick has owned and operated several businesses throughout his life in Cross Plains. After welding for 16 years he started a natural gas compressor fabrication business. He worked for 13 years for Dal-Mar Energy where he was field superintendent for seven years and later served as manager of both their Natural Gas Gathering and Distribution facilities. In 1997 Rick started a woodworking business where he makes game tables and porch swings. You can visit Rick's website at www.callahanfurniture.com . Rick served one tenure on the City Council for the City of Cross Plains. Rick has attended Cisco Junior College, Ranger Junior College and Midwestern State University with studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Rick enjoys reading, riding bicycles with his children and grandchildren. When time allows, the family gets together and enjoys camping outings. He enjoys restoring old bicycles in his free time and is also an avid pencil collector. As the current Marketing and Promotions director of PLANCP, Rick has great expectations for the City of Cross Plains in the coming months and years.
